KANSAS CITY — South Dakota State’s Douglas Wilson was announced Monday as a National Association of Basketball Coaches’ (NABC) All-District 12 First Team selection. Wilson, who also garnered USBWA All-District honors, led the Jackrabbits in 2019-20 with 18.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. The big man scored 10 or more in 27 of 29 appearances, and broke the 20-point barrier in 12 contests. From Des Moines, Iowa, he shot 64.1 percent from the field in league play and twice dropped 31 points on a league opponent. The 2019-20 Summit League Player of the Year and All-Summit League First Team pick shot above 60 percent in all but three league contests, and immediately made his mark on the Jackrabbits after earning 2018-19 NJCAA Player of the Year honors a year ago. The district squads, voted on by member coaches of the NABC, have featured at least one South Dakota State student-athlete in the past four years. Wilson advances to the NABC’s All-American ballot. That team will be announced in late March.
