PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor girls basketball team got back into the win column as they held off a pesky Douglas squad 68-55 at Riggs High Gym. The game was tied at 15 after the first quarter but a 17-11 advantage by Pierre in the second period game them a 32-26 lead halftime lead that they never relinquished. The Governors had 3 girls score in double figures led by Caytee Williams with 18 followed by Remington Price with 18 and Kylee Thorpe with 11. The Patriots also had 3 players in double figures led by AikaTinkman and Lamara Casteneda who had 13 points apeice. With the win the Governors improve to 6-6 on the season and now have 10 days off before their next game a week from Friday when they host Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
