Delores Wieseler 1931 – 2019

MILLER, SD – Delores Wieseler, 88, of Miller and formerly of Polo, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 at her home.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2019, at St. Liborius Catholic Church, Polo, with Father Christopher Hughes presiding. Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis. A wake service will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2019, at the church.
Delores Jean Jenner was born on February 4, 1931 to Robert and Freda (Gerjets) Jenner and grew up on a farm by St. Lawrence.
She attended Beulah School, Gilbert Township, through the eighth grade and graduated from Miller High School in 1949. While she was growing up, Delores was active in FHA, Girls Glee Club, and 4-H for which she earned many ribbons.
After graduating she worked as a receptionist at St. John’s Hospital in Huron.
Delores married George Wieseler at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver, Colorado, on August 4, 1952.
In the first years of their marriage, George and Delores lived in Merced, California, where George was stationed while he served in the Air Force. Their first son was born in Merced.
They returned to South Dakota in 1954, and they purchased their farm in 1956. They had five more children.
Delores was active in Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and camping with their Good Sam group.
Delores is survived by her children: Wayne, Cathedral City, CA, Bruce (Brenda), Kansas City, MO, Dan (Jacquelyn), Kansas City, MO, Jane, Sioux Falls, SD, Rod (Cindy), Miller, SD, Pam Schwebach (Rock), Renner, SD; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George; parents, Robert and Freda; brother, Walter; and sister, Laverne.
