HASTINGS, S.D. – The Pierre Trappers scored in each of the first four innings to build an 11-0 lead and the pitching did the rest in an 11-1 win over the Hastings Sodbusters in Expedition League Baseball Sunday night in Hastings. Pierre scored 4 times in the first inning to set the tone to the night as they banged out 14 hits. Meanwhile, pitchers Jackson Back and Nathen Morris combined on a 3 hitter with Back going the first 6 innings and picking up the win allowing just 2 hits on the night. Tate Ellison homered for the third time this season for the Trappers who had two other extra base hits on the night. 6 Hastings pitchers could not stop the Expedition who ended a 4 game losing skid and improved to 11 and 15 on the season. The Trappers return home to begin a 7 game home stand tonight when they host the Spearfish Sasquatch with game time at 7:05 pm at Hyde Stadium.
