PIERRE, S.D. – The Spearfish Sasquatch downed the Pierre Trappers 9-5 in Expedition League Baseball Monday night in Pierre at Hyde Stadium. The Sasquatch rallied from two runs down in the first inning to score 5 straight runs to take the lead for good as they improved their season record to 18-8. Kyle Nordbye started for the Trappers but was knocked out of the game after 5 innings and took the loss allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. Alex Sheets and AJ Fell pitched the final four innings. Zane Phelps homered for Pierre, his 4th of the season and along with Billy Moreland drove in runs to tie for the team lead with 17 on the season. Pierre had just 6 hits in the game as they fell to 11-16 on the season. The two teams will play a pair of 7 inning games tonight with the first game of the doubleheader scheduled to begin at 5:05 pm and the second game at 7:05 pm or a half hour after the conclusion of the first game. The 5:05 game is a make up of a rain out last week between the two teams in Pierre.
