PIERRE, S.D. – 3 pitchers combined on a 4 hit shutout as the Pierre Trappers shut out the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 4-0 Tuesday night in Expedition League Baseball in Pierre. The Trappers did their damage in the middle innings scoring 1 in the fifth and added 3 runs in the 6th to win their second consecutive game for the first time this season. Tate Ellison hit his first home run of the season for the Trappers and Billy Moreland 2 hits and 2 RBI’s to lead the Trappers 7 hit attack. But the night belonged to Hild and Larsen on the mound. Colin Smith started and picked up the win on the mound going the first 5 innings allowing just 2 hits. Jared Dinisi and Alex Sheetz pitched 2 hit shutout baseball with Sheetz picking up the save with a perfect ninth inning. The three pitchers combined to strike out 8 Whiskey Jacks. The win ups the Trappers record to 4 and 7 on the season as they wrap up the brief 2 game series and homestand tonight with a game at 7:05 pm at Hyde Stadium.
