PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Trappers won their first series sweep of the 2019 Expedition League baseball season with a football like 14-10 win over the Fremont Moo Sunday night at Hyde Stadium. Fremont started the game with 5 runs in the first inning only to see Pierre counter with 7 in their half of the inning. The two teams then settled in as the Trappers outhit the Moo 11-10. Alex Gonzales and Nick Altermatt homered for the Trappers and Altermatt had 5 RBI’s in the win. Kyle Nordby started and went 4.1 innings allowing 7 runs on 5 hits. Andrew Brooks, the third pitcher used by Pierre on the night picked up the win with 4 innings of one run 2 hit ball. The win pulls the Trappers to within one game of the .500 mark at 10-11. The Trappers are back on the road opening up a 3 game series in Hastings, Nebraska tonight facing the Hastings Sodbusters in a 6:35 pm first pitch.
