SDSU Extension and South Dakota 4-H are excited to announce a new horse-specific camp in 2018. In partnership with Klein Ranch, youth ages 13 to 18 are invited to attend to learn more about riding, horsemanship, showmanship, leadership and environmental factors in the prairies of Isabel, South Dakota. The camp will take place June 24-29.
“Horses capture the interests and passions of many youth. During this horsemanship camp, youth will learn the basics about horsemanship as well as leadership in a safe and fun environment,” said Katherine Jaeger, SDSU Extension Youth Outdoor Education Field Specialist.
Participants of all skill levels are welcome – no prior horse experience is needed.
Youth are not able to bring their own horses, as horses will be assigned to them for the week based on their experience level. The cost to participant is $350. This fee includes all activities, rides, lodging and meals.
Enrollment in SD 4-H is not required to participate. Registration is open now and will remain open until filled. To register visit iGrow.org/events.
