SDSU’s Olson Earns Academic All America Status


AUSTIN, Texas — South Dakota State University high jumper Kali Olson has been named to the Capital One Academic Alll-America® Division I Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country Second Team, becoming the sixth Jackrabbit student-athlete to earn Academic All-America recognition during the 2013-14 school year.  Olson, a recent SDSU graduate from Lisbon, North Dakota, completed her Jackrabbit career with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while majoring in psychology.  In the high jump event, she ranks tied for fourth in the indoor high jump (5 feet, 8 inches) and is tied for second in the outdoor high jump (5-8 3/4) at SDSU.  To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
