PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion Baseball team saw their season come to an end on Sunday during day 3 of the South Dakota American Legion A State tournament in Mitchell as they were defeated by Brandon Valley 8-4. The start of the game was delayed due to rain earlier in the day in Mitchell but when it did get started Brandon Valley finally broke through with 4 runs in the 4th inning. They scored in each of the final 3 innings sending Pierre home and ending their season with a 21-21 record. Brandon Valley out hit the Post 8 squad 11-7 in the game. Jack Van Camp started and took the loss for Pierre allowing the first four runs. Matt Lusk allowed 4 runs in relief. Lusk doubled for Pierre’s only extra base hit and Andrew Coverdale, Cade Hinkle and Lusk had RBI’s.
