Post 8 Loses High Scoring Game to Minot

PIERRE, S.D. – Pierre Post 8 American Legion Baseball and Minot, N.D. combined for 37 hits and 35 runs on Sunday as Minot defeated Pierre 20-15 in high scoring affair at Hyde Stadium in Pierre.  Conner Gerber had 4 of Pierre’s 16 hits in the contest.  Spencer Sarringer, Bradley Dean, Garret Stout, Landon Badger and Austin Hoss each had multiple hit games for Pierre with Stout driving in 4 runs while Dean and Badger each had 3 RBI’s.  But Pierre pitching could not keep Minot leadoff hitter Easton Bennett off base as he had 4 hits and 5 RBI’s to pace the North Dakotans to the win.  Four Pierre pitchers allowed 21 hits with Kyle Stover starting and taking the loss allowing 11 runs on 10 hits over 2.1 innings pitched.  The loss ended Pierre’s win streak at 6 as Post 8’s record falls to 13-7 on the season.  On Saturday, Spencer Sarringer delivered the walkoff RBI hit that gave Pierre a 11 inning 10-9 win over Minot.  Post 8 is back in action tonight when the host Bismarck, a team they beat twice last week in the Border Battle tournament, in a single 9 inning game scheduled to begin at 7 pm at Hyde Stadium.
