Post 8 Ends Regular Season With Sweep



WATERTOWN, S.D. –       The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball ended their regular season on a winning note sweeping a doubleheader from Watertown Saturday night.  Post 8 won the opener in a high scoring 14-13 win.  They then took the nightcap 12-3 to end the regular season with a 28-15 record.  In the opener Spencer Sarringer and Daniel Magee each had 3 hits while Landon Badger had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s to lead Pierre.  Both teams had 13 hits and both committed 2 errors.  Watertown scored 9 runs in the 5th inning  but Post 8 was able to hold them off.   Maguire Raske started for Post 8 and pitched into the 5th inning before getting relief help from Micheal Lusk.  Colton McClemons took the loss for Watertown.   In the nightcap, Pierre scored 8 runs in the first inning and cruised the rest of the way.  Peyton Zabel and Brad Dean combined on a 5 hitter and Joe King had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s to pace the Pierre attack.  Pierre will open up Region 3A play Wednesday against Mitchell at Mitchell.
