MITCHELL, S.D. – Several Pierre and central South Dakota Youth Golfers competed in the SDGA Junior Tour summer stop at Mitchell’s Lakeview Golf Course on Monday. In the boys 16-18 division Carter Karst had the best score of the Pierre golfers firing an 18 hole round 86 which was good for a 8th place finish. Zane Baus and Tyler Swenson finished 9th and 10th in the field of 17 golfers with rounds of 89 while Thomas Kropp came in with a 91 good for a 11th place finish. In the girls 16-18 division tournament, Erin Mocur of Miller won another tournament with a round of 92 to place first. In the boys 12-13 age division tournament, Sawyer Sonnenschein of Pierre fired a 92 to finish 4th. In the boys U11 tournament which was 9 holes, Sutton Sonnenschein of Pierre-Ft. Pierre had around of 50 good for a 10th place finish. The next stop on the SDGA Summer Junior tour will be on Monday with tournaments in Watertown at the Prarie Winds Golf Course and in Hot Springs at the Southern Hills Golf Course.
