Pierre-Fort Pierre bullying task force transitioned to volunteer group

The Pierre – Fort Pierre Bullying Prevention Task Force is transitioning to a volunteer organization.

Task Force facilitator Dennis Pfrimmer, CEO of Capital Area Counseling Services, says bullying is a much larger issue than the task force expected.

He says two volunteer-led committees have been established. A response committee will try to help people dealing with bullying situations.

Pfrimmer says a prevention committee will work on awareness and messaging.

The Task Force was established in August of 2017 by Pierre mayor Steve Harding and Fort Pierre mayor Gloria Hanson. If you’re interested in being a part of the long-term bullying prevention effort in Pierre and Fort Pierre, please contact Capital Area Counseling Services at 605.224.5811.
