With the retiring of the colors and a motion to adjourn last night (Tues.), the Pierre City Commission closed the chapter on the building that has served as City Hall since 1959.
Mayor Steve Harding says the new city hall building improves working conditions for staff and is easily accessible to the public.
Commissioner Jamie Huizenga says the new city hall building better allows city services to change with the times.
The new Pierre City Hall Building is located at 2301 Patron Parkway, in the former Eagle Creek Building just off of Fourth Street near the Northridge Plaza Mall.
