PIERRE, SD – Patrick M.R. Rogers passed away on February 7, 2019 at the age of 26. Visitation will be held 5:00-6:00pm, Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church Trinity Hall with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:00pm. Visitation will continue with an overnight wake. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00am, Friday, February 15, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church Trinity Hall with interment following at St. Catherine’s Cemetery at West Bend.
Patrick was born in Pierre, SD on June 16, 1992 to Patrick D. & Jolene Rogers. He was an enrolled member of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe and grew up in Pierre. Patrick graduated from T.F. Riggs High School in 2011, following high school he went right to work. Patrick worked on the Hattum Family Farm as a ranch hand, Chase Roofing as well as Steamboat Inc. over the years.
Patrick was always on the go to somewhere. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. It was no surprise that on March 14, 2018 Patrick joined the Fort Pierre Fire Department, which was a childhood dream of his.
Patrick loved to have fun with whatever he was doing. He was always smiling and cracking jokes – you were always sure to laugh if he was around. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, basketball, fire calls, spending time with his niece and nephew, and hanging out with his best buddies. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Patrick is survived by his father Patrick D. Rogers, sisters Tristan Rogers and Kylie Kusser, niece Sadie White Twin, nephew Jamison White Twin, 9 uncles, 8 aunts and 49 cousins. He was proceded in death by his mother Jolene Rogers (Marks) and sister Jamie Kusser; Grandpa Raymond Marks Sr., Grandma Aurelia Marks, Grandma Clarrissia Tobias, Great-Grandma Pearl Swan and his uncle Raymond Marks Jr., and his best friends Taylor Barta and Troy Hattum.
