PIERRE, S.D. – Oahe Speedway north of Pierre held a weekend of quarter-mile drag racing this past weekend. On Saturday the Shootout Race Winners were Todd Kost of New Salem, N.D. in the Box/No Box Shootout. Mike Braley of Pierre took the win in the Bike/Sled Shootout. The Trophy Shootout was won by Eric Serbousek of Pierre and Justin Ehlers of Pierre secured the win in the Junior Shootout. On Sunday it was the 7th Pepsi Points Series races. Joe Wolf of Pierre won the Super Pro Points Race #7. Pro ET Points Race #7 went to first time visitor, J.R. Ward of Watertown. Keeping it all in the family and the same city, Rodney Hopf of Huron won the Bike/Sled Point Race #7. Dustin Hendrickson of Aberdeen won the Oahe Speedway Street Trophy Points Race #7 and Charles Serbousek of Pierre prevailed in the Street Trophy Points Race #7. Jonathan Geuther of Fort Pierre won the High School Points Race #7 and secured first place in the 2018 points race. And Evan Huse of Onida won the Junior Major Points Race while Justin Ehlers of Pierre ran unopposed and was declared the winner in the Junior Minor Division Points race. The next racing weekend at Oahe Speedway will be August 18 and 19 that will include the Shootout Races on Saturday and the 8th Pepsi Point Series races and the Summit Racing Eq King of the Track races on Sunday. Oahe Speedway is located some 14 miles north of Pierre along Highway 1804 at the Spring Creek Turnoff.
