ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State head football coach Tom Dosch announced Monday the Wolves captains for the 2017 season. Each year the captains are voted on following the final game, by all members of the NSU football team. Five Wolves are honored in 2017, a first for the program, including Nickolas Truden, kCody Braeger, Mitch Brockhaus, Noah MacPherson and Marcus Marcellus. Truen started all 11 games for the Wolves in his senior campaign. He finished the year with 1,061 yards rushing, making him the first Wolf since 2003 to record over 1000 yards in a season. Braeger started all 11 games for the Wolves at outside linebacker. The senior recorded 47 tackles, including 22 solo stops. Brockhaus was a key component of the Northern State offensive line starting in eight games for the Wolves at left tackle. MacPherson led the Northern State defense with 77 total tackles, including 42 solo stops and Marcellus tallied 15 total tackles including 2.0 tackles for a total loss of three yards.
