This is National Police Week and the South Dakota Law Enforcement Memorial Service was held this (Wed.) morning in Pierre.
State Attorney General Marty Jackley hopes people make the effort to thank members of law enforcement and their families.
It doesn’t happen often in South Dakota, but deaths in the line of duty do happen.
Jackley says members of law enforcement are the front line in protecting the public while the Attorney General’s Office and county states attorneys work to ensure criminals are punished.
