MITCHELL, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor golf team fired a 368 to claim second place at the Parkston Invitational golfed Tuesday in Mitchell at the Lakeview Golf Course. Burke South Central had a 268 to win the team title but had just 3 girls where Pierre and the other teams in the 7 team tournament had 4 scores counted on their team score. Burke South Central’s Tressa Bull had the individual medalist score on the day with a 81 and two shot victory over Ashley Zimmer of Mitchell. Hallie Gronlund of Pierre finished in a 3 way tie for third with a 88, one stroke better than Taylor Davis. Annabelle Simpson had a 94 to finish 8th and Jessa McTighe fired a 97 to claim a 12 place finish in the tournament that featured a total of 38 golfers. Kaitlyn Swenson had a 103 for the other Pierre score on the day. The tournament featured teams from Mobridge-Pollock, Pierre, Mitchell, Winner and Burke South Central along with Parkston which had a varsity and a JV team play. Next up for the Lady Govs is the Brookings Invitational at the Brookings Country Club tomorrow (Thursday).
