BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor golf team fired a 370 team score and finished 7th in the 12 team Brookings Invitaitonal Girls Golf Tournament Thursday in Brookings. Sioux Falls O’Gorman shot a 329 to edge out runnerup Abedeen Central by 15 strokes. Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Sophia Salter won the indvidual medalist honors beating out teammate Emily Olson in a scorecard playoff. Both girls finished regulation with a 79. Shelby Guthrie had an 85 to place for the Lady Govs as she tied for 8uth with 3 other golfers. Annabelle Simpson had an 88 for the Lady Governors while Hallie Gronlund came in with a 96 and Rilee Rowse had a 101. A total of 64 golfers were in the tournament field. Pierre had only 4 girls playing on Thursday. The Lady Governors will travel to Watertown to compete in the Watertown Invitational on Monday.
