Knox Steps Down as Pierre Golf Coach

 

PIERRE, S.D. – One if the most successful golf coaches in Pierre Governor and Lady Governor history is stepping down. John Knox had his resignation as head girls and boys golf coach accepted by the Pierre School Board on Monday night. Knox won a pair of state championships team wise and 4 girls and one boy won individual state championship honors during his time as head coach. The 75 year old Knox coached Hallie Getz to back to back state titles while Taylor Smalley became the first ever state champion from Pierre, Karissa Guthrie and Katie Bartlett also won state titles as did Austin Hoss for the Governors. A search for a replacement is underway.
