PIERRE, SD – Jackie Dean Hoftiezer, 58, of Pierre, passed away, Monday, April 8, 2019. A Memorial Celebration of Life will begin at 10:30am, Friday, April 19, 2019 at Feigum Funeral Home with a coffee and donuts fellowship hour prior to from 9:30-10:30am. Inurnment will follow at Scotty Philip Cemetery, Fort Pierre.
Jack was born August 20, 1960 in Pierre to Robert and Violet (Johnson) Hoftiezer. He grew up in Pierre where he also attended school. Jack worked in several different occupations over the years. He was working at WW Tire in Ft Pierre at the time of his death. Racing was Jack’s passion. Casey, Brandon and Troy spent many hours with Jack building and repairing race cars. Another of his passions was children. He always remembered his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews on their birthdays and Christmas. His love of children led him to donate to St. Judd’s Children’s Research Hospital. His giving spirit will live on as he donated his organs to science for diabetic research.
Jack is survived by his brothers: Robert Hoftiezer of Pierre and Casey (Phyllis) Hoftiezer of Pierre; sisters, Nancy Roberts of Hazel and Joy Talley of Pierre; brother in law, Dave Titze of Fort Pierre; nephews: Troy (Tina) Titze of Fort Pierre, Brandon (Misty) Hoftiezer of Fort Pierre, Christopher (Sarah) Roberts of Willow Lake, Kirk (Shelby) Roberts of Vienna, Derek (Savanna) Roberts of Hazel, Jerad Roberts of Hazel, Heath Hoftiezer of Sioux Falls, Jeffery Seaman of Pierre, Jesse Seaman of Rapid City; nieces: Tami Titze (Roger) Klebe of Sioux Falls, Brandi (Dave) Kowalczyk of Sioux Falls, Michelle Hoftiezer of Fresno, CA; 30 great nieces and nephews and his many friends and racing buddies. He was preceded in death by parents; sisters: Linda Titze and Judy Neff; brother in law Clayton Roberts and nephews Robbie and Wayne Hoftiezer.
