PIERRE, S.D. – Former Pierre Lady Governor Track and Field Sprinting standout Courtney Dowling is having an outstanding season at the NCAA Division 1 level as she is running for the Liberty University Flames in North Carolina. Dowling was a part of three event championships and helped the Flames dominate the Big South Outdoor Track Championships last week in North Carolina. She won the 400m dash a time of 54.65, and ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay team that won that event by a whopping 11 seconds. Dowling also anchored the conference champion 4x100m relay team, as both relay teams set new meet records in the process. She also had a 7th place finish in the 200 meter dash. Next up for Dowling and the Flames will be the NCAA D-1 East Preliminary Meet in Tampa, Fla., May 24-26, with qualifiers from that meet moving on to the National Championships in Eugene, Oregon on June 6th through the 8th. Dowling was a Riggs High Graduate in 2016 and is a sophomore at Liberty.
