Former Northern St. Football Coach to be Recognized by School

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State is excited to announce that longtime NSU football coach Ken Heupel will be recognized at the Wolves’ Oct. 25 home football game against St. Cloud State. It will mark Coach Heupel’s first return to NSU since his departure in 2004.  Coach Heupel compiled a record of 44-33 in his seven seasons as the head man for the Wolves. His 44 victories at NSU are the fourth-most in program history. In 1999, Heupel led Northern to a 9-2 record overall and a perfect 8-0 mark in the NSIC, leading the Wolves to their first conference title since 1992.  Heupel also led the Wolves to their first post-season berth as an NCAA Division II school in 2004 with an appearance in the Mineral Water Bowl.  Northern will be hosting a Football Alumni Reunion Weekend Oct. 24-25 and all football alums are invited to celebrate Coach Heupel’s recognition.
