MILLER, SD – Doreen F. McGeorge Eisenbraun, 95, of Miller, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Center in Miller.
A memorial potluck lunch will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday July 8, 2019 at the St. Lawrence Park. A private family graveside service will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Gullerud officiating.
Doreen Frances was born on May 27, 1924 to Alex and Sadie (Varner) Breitung of Revillo, SD. Doreen was baptized shortly after birth and later confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church on May 21, 1939. Her confirmation verse was Colossians 3:17, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
Doreen married John McGeorge on June 30, 1943 and lived in the Clear Lake area for a number of years, before moving to the St. Lawrence, SD area in 1958. John passed away on April 17, 1993, and Doreen married Edwin Eisenbraun on October 9, 1994. They made their home in Miller until Edwin’s death on February 20, 1999.
Doreen enjoyed visiting with family and friends in her CLC Lutheran Church. She loved the South Dakota outdoors and enjoyed life on the ranch, fishing, playing her piano, and baking wonderful treats for her family members. When asked what she thought was her greatest accomplishment, Doreen replied, “raising my children.”
Doreen is survived by her children: Richard (Kathy) McGeorge, Eau Claire, WI, Rem (Marla) McGeorge, St. Lawrence, SD, and Ruth (Ernie) Peters, Hot Springs, SD; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: David Breitung, Mankato, MN and Arnold Breitung, Kaukauna, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Marvin Breitung and sister, Ruth Walter.
