Day 2 of Tyler Wilcox Memorial Guns vs Hoses Blood Drive Nets 124 Units of Blood

Today is the last day of the Tyler Wilcox Memorial Guns and Hoses blood drive in Pierre and Fort Pierre.

United Blood Services senior donor recruitment representative Abbie Keyes says Team Guns leads Team Hoses by one, 113 to 112. She says so far 226 units of blood has been collected. This year’s goal is 345 units.

Keyes says people often don’t think about the blood supply—until something happens.

Keyes says it’s wonderful that people are willing to donate blood after a tragedy, but there’s a need for it year round.

Those who’d like to donate blood may do so today (Wed.) from noon-6pm at Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre.
