As people across South Dakota dig out from this week’s blizzard, one fire chief is reminding people to clear the snow away from fire hydrants in their neighborhood.
Pierre Volunteer Fire Department chief Ian Paul knows there isn’t much space left to push snow to so it’s out of the way for pedestrians and vehicles. But, he says, being able to see a fire hydrant immediately when responding to call is extremely important.
