PIERRE, S.D. – The Oahe Capitals boys varsity hockey team skated to a 10-4 victory on Sunday over the Mitchell Marlins at the EXPO Center in Ft. Pierre. The Capitals struck quick scoring four unanswered goals in the first period and and added two more second and four in the third period including the final 3 goals of the game. Raef Briggs and Elliot Lief each had a pair of goals for the Capitals as 6 players total scored and goaltender Kieran Duffy turned aside 41 of 45 shots on goal.

Meanwhile the Oahe Capitals Girls hockey team traveled to Sioux Falls on Sunday and were shutout 10-0 by the Sioux Falls Flyers. Sioux Falls totally smothered the Capitals in the game as Oahe was only able to get two shots on goal the entire game while goaltender Abigail Fromm-Stewart was peppered in goal with 35 saves on facing 45 shots on goal.
PIERRE, S.D – The scheduled South Dakota State High School Hockey League games between the Oahe Capitals and the Mitchell Marlins in Mitchell were postponed on Saturday due to the weather and road conditions. The Capitals Girls game was scheduled for 12:30 pm while the Capitals boys contest was scheduled to be played at 8 pm. The games will be rescheduled.
