Stanley Co. Clay Target Team Registration now Open

Parents and Students of Stanley County: Athlete Registration is now Open for the new spring Stanley County Clay Target Team. Athlete registration will be handled this year by the League’s new technology parter, SportsEngine.

Raffle Tickets available through April 30th, Drawing May 5th (need not be present to win)

Tickets $25 each or 5 for $100, get tickets at Lynn’s Dakotamart in Pierre or online at sd-ccd.org

Only 1000 tickets available to win a 2016 Honda SXS 500 ATV. This fundraising raffle supports the only membership non-profit which advocates for all individuals with disabilities in South Dakota.

South Dakota’s Cattlemen’s Foundation Scholarships

South Dakota’s Cattlemen’s Foundation Scholarships are available for students who are interested in the improvement of beef production and promotion. Deadline to apply is April 1st, the application can be found at SDCFScholarships.com

Scholarships of $4,000  $3,000  $2,000 and $1,000 will be awarded to four students from South Dakota enrolled in any post-secondary institution in South Dakota.

Free Tax Help

Beginning February 1st through April 18th, certified volunteers will provide free Income Tax service for seniors and middle to low income taxpayers. Tax assistance will be provided on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons 1-4:30pm at the Pierre Area Senior Center (401 W. Pleasant Drive, Pierre)

You must bring Social Security or Medicare Cards for everyone listed on your tax return, photo ID’s and your 2015 Tax Return. If you plan to itemize, please bring all expense records.

All taxpayers and spouses are required to sign their tax returns before they are filed electronically.

The South Dakota Association of Towns & Townships is offering one $500 and on $1000 scholarship to senior high school students who are currently attending a South Dakota public, private, parochial high school or a home school program and reside in a town or township who is a current member of SDATAT.

The Walworth County Conservation District is currently taking orders for spring delivery of trees and perennials.

They have potted conifers in various sizes, bare root fruit and shade trees which are 5-6′ and lightly branched.  They sell all kinds of potted flower and grass perennials, plus strawberry plants, raspberry canes and grape vines.

“Goodbye, My Fancy” is a Broadway hit about a liberal Congresswoman who returns to her old school as an honorary visitor. Since her wartime experiences in Europe, she has devoted herself to the task of acquainting people with the horrors of war. That is why she has broaught a documentary with her to be shown to the young graduates. The movie is considered harsh and improper by trustees, so she has a fight on her hands.

Performance dates: May 5-7 and 11-13th with preview performance May 3rd

Stanley County Kindergarten Round-up is March 9-10th for children who live in Stanley Co. that will be five years old prior to September 1st, 2017 or are interested in attending Stanley Co. Elementary. During the round-up, children will go through a screening process to determine kindergarten readiness while parents participate in an informational meeting.
