PIERRE – Playing on his home course, Bill Olander won the 70 & Over Division of the South Dakota Golf Association Men’s Senior Championship Sunday at Hillsview Golf Course.
Olander finished at 8-over 152, two shots better than Louis Mendoza of Eagle Butte. Onida’s John Knox finished three shots back. Dean Degooyer of Pierre was fourth at 12-over. Charlie Vangerpen of Pierre finished in a tie for fifth at 14-over. Two Fort Pierre golfers were also in the top-13. Brent Dykstra was eighth and Vern Docker was 13th.
Olander shot 74 on Saturday, including a back-nine 34 with three birdies, and 78 on Sunday.
