4 Trappers Players Begin Collegiate Baseball Season

PIERRE, S.D. – With the college baseball season starting for some teams around the country, a few Pierre Trappers have been in action already. Michael Herrera and Zane Phelps have been raking in the lineup for Scottsdale Community College. Herera has .368 average with 1 homr run the 5 RBI’s in 6 games played so far. Phelps through 8 games has a .300 average with 7 RBI’s and 8 walks so far. James Harden pitched well in his first outing of the season for Hope International University allowing 1 hit and striking out 2 in 2/3rds of an inning of releif while Eric Romo has been lights out for Golden West College in 5 appearances. Romo has pitched in 12 innings so far with 15 strikeouts and 1.50 earned run average compiling a 2-1 record. The Trappers will begin their first season in the Expedition League in May. More players will begin their seasons in the coming weeks!
