PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor volleyball team has put in a week of practice for first year head coach Chris Swiden as they prepare for their season opener next Friday. Coach Swiden says that practices have gone well for the first week.
And while not mentioning any names, coach Swiden says he has been pleasantly surprised by several seniors that he did not see over the summer at any of the camps the Lady Govs attended and had.
With the first two games just a week away, coach Swiden says he has kept practices fairly simple working on fundamentals and just that.
Game preperations will begin next week for the first matchups against Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central in Rapid City. A big part of those preperations include a scrimmage that will be open to the public.
The public scrimmage hours on Tuesday will be from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Pierre will play it’s first four games on the road before their home opener against Watertown on September 9th.
