PIERRE, S.D. – The defending State 11AA champion Pierre Governors put in day two of two a day practices today (Friday) as they prepare for their season opener against Watertown two weeks from tomorrow (Saturday). The Governors lost all but 3 starters on the offensive and defensive side of the ball to graduation but they have alot of players who saw varsity playing time back. And 2nd year head coach Jayson Poppinga says that numbers wise, Pierre has more kids out for football this year than last.
Despite the new faces that the Governors will have in the lineup this year, Coach Poppinga says his team is continuing to strive to be the best.

Fans will get a chance to get a sneak peak of the 2014 Governor football team a week from tomorrow (Saturday) at the annual Powerade Scrimmage at Phil Trautner Stadium at Hollister Field at 10 am.
