PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor tennis team is on the court preparing for the 2014 season for 3rd year head coach Wade Kippley.  Graduation cut into the Lady Govs returning varsity lineup and coach Kippely says that this Pierre team will be extremely young.

And that youth according to coach Kippley will make the first two weeks of practice an important two weeks of the season.

The number 1 singles spot will apparently be filled by the lone senior on the team this year to replace Eileen Leong who graduated last year.  But after that there appears to be spots to be won according to coach Kippley.

But with girls tennis played as a fall sport in South Dakota, coach Kippley says that the advantage of having played during the summer helps out alot.

The Lady Govs open their season a week from Friday when they travel to Sioux Falls to face Sioux Falls Lincoln.  The Lady Govs will the play Sioux Falls Washington and Roosevelt a week from Saturday in Sioux Falls.
