Crofton, Neb. and Parkston Mudcats Win at State B

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Parkston Mudcats and Crofton, Neb. were winners Tuesday night of second round games in the South Dakota Amateur Baseball tournament that continued in Mitchell.  Parkston shutout Harrisburg 5-0 behind a complete game 6 hitter.  Nolz struck out 9 and Jeff Fish had 3 of Parkstons 9 hits in the game.  Crofton defeated Lake Norden 8-2 as Tyler Zimmerman had 4 of Crofton’s 13 hits in the game.  Lake Norden also committed 4 errors in the game as Crofton scored 3 runs in the 7th inning to break away from a 3-2 lead to make it 6-3.  They added a pair of insurance runs in the 9th inning.  Crofton and the Parkston Mudcats will play a quarterfinal round game in the State B tournament Friday at 6 pm.
