Chamberlain Loses in Extra Innings

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Redfield Pheasants scored 2 runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game and then scored the winning run in the 12th to defeat Chamberlain 6-5 in the first round of the South Dakota Class B Amatuer Baseball tournament in Mitchell on Saturday.  Nate Binger led Redfield with 3 hits while Zac Zimprich had 3 hits to pace Chamberlain which saw it’s season come to an end.  Neil Hylla had 2 RBI’s for Chamberlain which was outhit by Redfield 12-11.  Both teams committed 4 errors in the contest.  Zimprich went the first 9 innings for Chamberlain striking out 8.  Hunter Hallock struck out 2 but took the loss in relief.  Redfield plays Alexandria in a second round game Wednesday at 6 pm.
