Stirling Family Memorial Ranch Rodeo to be Sept. 20

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) 2014 brings the 17th annual Stirling Family Memorial Ranch Rodeo to the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierre.  This year’s event will be Saturday, September 20.  All proceeds raised go to assist families and individuals fighting cancer.  The long-go starts at 11 a.m.  Four member teams will compete in calf branding, pair sorting, wild cow milking and ranch bronc riding.  There will also be a wild pony race and mutton busting.  Teams must enter by September 10 at www.stirlingfamilyranchrodeo.com.  All proceeds raised go to assist families and individuals fighting cancer.  Wednesday morning, KGFX’s Jeri Thomas spoke via phone with Brett Stirling-who talked this great event, how it started and what is planned for this year.
