GETTYSBURG, S.D. – (DRG News) A Minneapolis man was hurt in a motorcycle accident Monday morning in Potter County. Sheriff Curt Hamburger says the accident was reported about 8:20 a.m. Monday morning and occurred 5 1/2 miles west of Gettysburg on Highway 212. Hamburger says a motorcyclist-Gary Peterson was westbound on the highway on a 2014 Yamaha, when the cycle went off the road, hit a metal reflective post, then tumbled and rolled. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The motorcycle sustained about $5,000 damage. Besides the Potter County Sheriff’s Office, other agencies responding to the accident included Gettysburg EMT and Gettysburg Fire Department.
