HURON, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball team got off to a great start, but the finish was just the opposite as Yankton eliminated Post 8 from the South Dakota State American Legion baseball championship tournament on Friday. Colin Muth hit a three run home in the 5th inning as Yankton rallied from a 4-0 deficit to a 7-5 win on Friday. Tanner Termandsen allowed 4 runs in the first inning as Pierre scored all of their runs in the first inning. But he shut down the Post 8 squad until the 9th inning when Pierre scored a run. Alex Gray had a pair of hits for Pierre. Cooper Walton started but allowed 5 runs and took the loss. Quinn Reimers came on in relief and pitched into the 9th inning. Nick Rabern allowed two runs in the 9th that was the difference in the game. Pierre ends their season with a 19-24 record. Yankton will play the loser of the Rapid City Post 22 and Brandon Valley in an elimination game Saturday.
