Miller Wins District 3B Amateur Baseball Tournament

PIERRE, S.D. – Miller is the champion of the Pony Hills or District 3B baseball tournament.  Miller downed Wessington Springs 2-1 in the championship game of the tournament Thursday night in Pierre.  Cody Cotton led Miller with a single and double, and also earned the save for starting pitcher Aaron Zeller.  Zeller scattered seven hits to earn the win.  7 Wessington Springs players had 1 hit each.  Miller had 5 hits and 3 errors in the game but made the plays when they had to throughout the game.  Miller will enter the State Class B Amatuer baseball tournament as the District 3B champion.  Wessington Springs, Plankinton and Chamberlain also earned berths to the State Class B tournament that begins next week in Mitchell.
