Four Corners Knocked Out of Post Season

PIERRE, S.D. – Chamberlain qualified for the South Dakota Class B State Amateur baseball tournament with a 6-3 win over Four Corners Monday night in an elimination game of the District 3B amateur baseball tournament in Pierre.  Zach Zimprich pitched and hit Chamberlain into the state tournament.  Zimprich fired a complete game 11 hitter while picking up 3 hits at the plate to pace Chamberlain’s 11 hit attack.   Ryan Randall, Evan Fleury, and Chris Konechne each had two hits for Chamberlain which overcame 5 errors in the contest.  Tate Gabriel started and took the loss for Four Corners.  Gabriel pitched into the 7th inning allowing 4 runs.  Justin Allen had three hits and Justin Kappes had two hits for Four Corners.  Another elimination game is on tap for tonight at Hyde Stadium as Plankinton plays Kimball-White Lake for a trip to the State B amateur tournament.  Miller and Wessington Springs will play for the championship of the District 3B tournament on Thursday.  Both teams have already qualified for the State B tournament that begins next week in Mitchell.
