FORT PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Fort Pierre’s City Council will hold a special meeting this evening with the focus on street projects in the community. Mayor Gloria Hanson says the council will take the time to look at all the work that still needs to be complete around town this construction season and which projects might be delayed. Hanson says the construction schedule this year has been a tough one and various issues have resulted in delays in some street work that was planned.
Hanson says three years later-the city is still trying to repair streets that were damaged in the 2011 flood fight. She says work on the flood impacted roads must be completed soon.
Hanson says city residents will get the chance tonight to hear about which projects are still on the “to-do” list and to offer their comments.
Hanson says the street projects range in size from simple patching and chip seal work to jobs that involve infrastructure work under the road surface. Tonight’s special Fort Pierre City Council meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Center in Fort Pierre.
