PIERRE.S.D.- The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball team ended the regular season in winning fashion by sweeping a doubleheader from Sioux Falls East at Hyde Stadium on Friday.  Post 8 won the opening game 5-4 as Ben Eisenbiesz picked up the win on the mound.  The Post 8 starter threw 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs on 3 hits.  Quinn Reimers, the third Post 8 pitcher of the game picked up the save.  Pierre built a 5-1 lead before SF East scored 2 runs in the 6th ad 1 in the 7th.  5 Post 8 players had 2 hits.  In the nightcap, Pierre scored 7 runs in the 4th inning to take an 11-0 win in a game called after 5 innings on the 10 run mercy rule. Blake Dean had 3 of Pierre’s 13 hits while Cooper Walton and Tyson O’Daniel combined on a 3 hitter.  Pierre ends the regular season with a 16-20 record and will open up post season play Tuesday at Spearfish taking on Spearfish in the Region 3A tournament.
