Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 10th at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 11th, at the Lost Draw Cemetery on the Kjerstad ranch, five miles north and five miles east of Quinn.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

Rose Ellen Boston was born February 3rd, 1940, in Seiling, Oklahoma, the daughter of Walter and Mary Boston. She lived in Oklahoma then moved to Idaho before settling in Sanger, California. As a young girl she worked picking cotton, oranges, peaches and grapes. Rose moved to South Dakota in 1955, lived with Jimmy and Patsy Boston and graduated from Quinn High School as an aspiring artist.
Rose was united in marriage to Leonard “Lonnie” Kjerstad on August 24, 1958, in Quinn, South Dakota, and to this union were born four children, Lenden, Nancy, Nathan and Melody. She worked as a seamstress and waitress in Wall. Being able to share her earnings with loved ones was her most esteemed endeavor.
Rose took great pride in raising her family and loved watching her grandchildren grow. Rose enjoyed painting, gardening, fishing, hunting, cooking, sewing, crocheting, playing games, landscaping and traveling all while providing an unending amount of guidance and support to her family.
Family was of greatest importance as she dedicated her life to them with an enormous amount of generosity. Rose played the role as a skilled caregiver and teacher. She opened her arms to share experiences extending beyond her immediate family.
Survivors include her husband Leonard “Lonnie” Kjerstad of Quinn; four children Lenden Kjerstad of Creighton, Nancy Knapp (Boe) of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, Nathan Kjerstad (Heather) of Quinn, and Melody Kjerstad of Omaha; 12 grandchildren Jeromy Knapp, Joshua Knapp, Travis Knapp, Mackenzie Kjerstad, Johna Kjerstad, Mackayla Kjerstad, Joseph Kjerstad, Cade Kjerstad, Kayli Kjerstad, Allie Kjerstad, Natalie Kjerstad, and Olivia Caballero; one great-grandchild Sammy Knapp; one sister Eileen Hennigh (Wendell) of Darrouzett, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Walter Boston; and four brothers Charles, Roger, Alvin and Jimmy Boston.
