STILLWATER, Ok. – Former Mitchell Track and Field standout Caitlin Way has been nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year award by the Big 12 Conference. Way, a standout collegiately at Oklahoma State learned of the honor on Tuesday. The Woman of the Year award recognizes senior student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletic excellence, service and leadership. Way was a five-time all-Big 12 performer in her Oklahoma State Track and Field career. She qualified for the NCAA regional meet for three consecutive years and is second all-time in the weight throw for the Cowboys and third all-time in the hammer throw. The 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year winner, as well as the top 10 honorees and the nine finalists from Divisions I, II and III, will be honored and announced at a dinner in Indianapolis on Oct. 19.
