Former Highmore Coach to be Inducted into Tennis Hall of Fame



SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Former Yankton High School tennis coach Tim Mulhair will be recognized with the South Dakota Tennis Achievement Award during the S.D. Tennis Hall of Fame induction on July 27 in Sioux Falls. Mulhair  taught and coached at Highmore and Mission before beginning his tenure in Yankton in 1983.   He took the helm of the Yankton girls’ tennis team in the fall of 1985, then added the boys’ tennis duties in 1992. He coached both until 2010, when he retired from teaching.  Under Mulhair, the Gazelles won two Eastern South Dakota conference titles, and Yankton had three players honored with the ‘Spirit of Max’ Award. Gayle Klein of Mitchell will also receive the S.D. Tennis Achievement Award. Aberdeen’s Terry Jordre and Brookings’ Bob Fishback will be inducted into the S.D. Tennis Hall of Fame.
