First 4th of July Road Race in Ft. Pierre

FT.PIERRE, S.D. -  Some 155 participants took part of the first ever 4 on the Fourth Fort Pierre road race Friday morning in Ft. Pierre.  Jebben Keyes of Pierre and new head cross country coach at Pierre Riggs High School was the winner of the 4 mile mens race in a time of 23:13.  Keyes was over a minute ahead of runner up Todd Crooks.  Jessica Nelson won the womens race in a time of 25:41.  Nelson finished nearly 2:30 minutes ahead of Riggs High School sprinter sensation Cortney Dowling.  Another Riggs High runner Emily Mikkelsen finished third.  Awards handed out included the First Registration Award which went to Glen Haberman and the Most Patriotic Awards which went to Kirsten Jasper & Lindsey Riter.
