STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Post 33 American Legion varsity baseball season looks to be over.  The Titans were unable to field a full team Saturday for their games at the Black Hills Classic in Rapid City after three players reportedly quit after Friday’s games.  Sturgis head coach Parks Brigman confirmed to the Rapid City Journal that three players quit the team on Friday and that with those three joining two who quit earlier in the summer the Titans are unable to field a full varsity roster.  As a result, Post 33 looks as though it will be forced to forfeit the rest of its games this summer.  The Titans are in Region 3A with Rapid City Post 22, Rapid City Post 320, Spearfish Post 164 and Pierre Post 8.  This year’s Region 3A tournament will be held in Spearfish from July 23-25. The South Dakota American Legion State Tournament will be in Huron from July 30 to Aug. 3.
