PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The Oahe Farm and Ranch Show will take place this week north of Pierre-at the Oahe Speedway. The annual show is billed as “an outdoor working farm and ranch show”. Hours Wednesday are 9-5 and Thursday 9-4. Dorene Foster-who is leading the show’s exhibitor sales, says visitors will note this year’s show is even bigger and better than last years.

Foster says besides rows of various exhibitors, booths featuring various products are set up in two different tents this year.

The show is operated locally-by Morris, Inc. Foster says this is the second year that Morris owner Milt Morris has brought the show to central South Dakota after it debuted in 2012 under the management of Vertical Xchange. With large ag venues held in other parts of the state, Foster says Morris believes central South Dakota should also have its own farm/ranch event. She says the Oahe Farm and Ranch Show is more up-close and personal-compared to larger shows held elsewhere in the state.

Foster says if you want a ride to the Oahe Farm and Ranch Show; contact River Cities Public Transit at 945-2360. River Cities Transit will be picking up attendees in Pierre/Fort Pierre at two pre-set times in the morning and noon hour and transporting them directly to the show; with return trips planned during the noon hour and around 4:00 p.m.

Other show highlights include a broadcast from the show by Mike Adams with the nationally syndicated program AgriTalk Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. and an agricultural political forum and debate on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The forum is to be moderated in part by the American Ag Network’s Rusty Halverson. If you have any ag related issues or questions you would like candidates to address, send them to questions@dakotaradiogroup.com.  On Thursday, the Hefty Brothers will make an appearance for a second year at the show. Check the schedule of events at www.oahefrs.com.  People are also reminded that they can tune their radio into the Oahe Speedway Race Station at 98.5 FM when they are on the show site or within a few miles of the speedway to hear a list of activities and other announcements.
